Rennie Sugar Free Tablets

Rennie Sugar Free Tablets quickly and effectively relieve indigestion, heartburn, acid indigestion, dyspepsia, hyperacidity, nervous indigestion, flatulence, upset stomach, indigestion during pregnancy and biliousness. They contain an antacid which works by neutralising excess stomach acid.

Rennie Sugar Free Tablets are spearmint flavour and are ideal for diabetics and anyone who needs to monitor their sugar intake.

Directions

Adults and children over 12 years:

  • 2 tablets to be sucked or chewed as required, preferably 1 hour after meals and before bedtime.
  • For heartburn an extra 2 tablets may be taken between these times.
  • Do not take more than 10 tablets a day.

If symptoms persist after 14 days consult your doctor or pharmacist. Prolonged use should be avoided.

Ingredients

  • Active Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate 680mg and Heavy Magnesium Carbonate 80mg.
  • Other Ingredients: Sorbitol (E420), Magnesiums Stearate, Potato Starch, Pregelatinised Maize Starch, Talc, Spearmint Flavour, Liquid Paraffin and Saccharin Sodium.

Cautions

  • Avoid taking Rennie Sugar Free Tablets with large amounts of milk or dairy.
  • Rennie Sugar Free Tablets contain 400mg sorbitol (E420) per tablet. Sorbitol is a source of fructose. If your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have been diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI), a rare genetic disorder in which a person cannot break down fructose, talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medicine.
  • Rennie Sugar Free can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding if taken as instructed. As Rennie Sugar Free provides a substantial amount of calcium in addition to dietary calcium intake, pregnant women should strictly limit their use of Rennie Sugar Free to the maximum recommended daily dose and avoid concomitant, excessive intake of milk (1 litre contains up to 1.2g elemental calcium) and dairy products.
  • This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per tablet, that is to say it is essentially 'sodium-free'.

Do not take Rennie Sugar Free Tablets:

  • If you have severe kidney disease.
  • If you have high calcium in the urine or kidney stones.
  • If you have high calcium or low phosphate levels in the blood.
  • If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients.
  • If you are under 12 years old.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Rennie Sugar Free Tablets:

  • If you have mild or moderate kidney problems as regular blood tests should be carried out.
  • If you are taking any other medicine, including those obtained without a prescription, particularly:
    • Tetracyclines and quinolones (antibiotics).
    • Levothyroxine (a thyroid hormone).
    • Eltrombopag (a medicine used to increase the number of platelets).
    • Digoxin (used for some heart conditions).
    • Thiazide diuretics (water tablets to treat water retention and high blood pressure).
    • Fluorides (for preventing dental caries).
    • Phosphates (for clearing the bowel prior to surgical procedure).
    • Iron supplements.
    • Bisphosphonates (used for the treatment of osteoporosis).
    • Dolutegravir (an anti-retroviral medicine used for the treatment of HIV infection)

To maximise the benefit of all products being used, take Rennie Sugar Free Tablets at least 4 hours before or after taking eltrombopag and 1-2 hours after taking any other medicines.
