Description

Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream

Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream is an emollient that helps to soften and moisturise the skin to treat dry, scaly skin conditions including ichthyosis and hyperkeratotic conditions associated with atopic eczema, xeroderma and iasteatosis.

The active ingredient in Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream is urea, the skin's natural moisturiser. Urea is found naturally in the top layer of the skin - the same layer that causes skin to become cracked, scaly and sometimes itchy when it doesn't have enough water. The urea in Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream helps the skin to retain moisture, and is mixed with white soft paraffin to form an oily layer on the surface of the skin to help prevent water from evaporating. These two actions help to reduce irritation, restore suppleness and improve the appearance of your skin.

Directions

  • Wash the affected areas well and rinse off any traces of soap
  • Dry the area.
  • Apply a suitable amount of cream twice daily.
  • Your doctor may tell you to cover this with a special "occlusive" dressing (an air tight dressing), but this is not usually necessary.

Ingredients

  • Active Ingredient: Urea 10% w/w contained in White Soft Paraffin.
  • Other Ingredients: Isopropyl Myristate, Maize Starch, Glyceryl Tribehenate, Palmitic Acid, Sorbitan Laurate and Polyoxyethylene Fatty Glyceride.

Cautions

Do not use Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream:
  • If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to urea or any of the ingredients of the cream.
Before you use Aquadrate 10% w/w Cream tell your doctor or pharmacist if:
  • You have moist or broken skin.
  • You are using or have recently used any other medicines which are applied to the skin as they may interfere with Aquadrate Cream.
  • You are taking or have recently taken/used any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
