Description

Cerumol Ear Drops

Cerumol Ear Drops gently soften and help remove ear wax. The gentle, dual action formula can be used to treat problem earwax, or to prepare ears before syringing. Each pack is supplied with a dropper for easy administration, and it has a handy screw on lid making the product easy to store.

What is ear wax and why does it need removing?

Ear wax is an oily substance produced to protect the eardrum. The amount of wax produced varies from person to person but a build-up of earwax can lead to partial hearing loss.

Directions

Cerumol Ear Drops comes ready for use in a bottle with a separate dropper. Before use check that the dropper provided is not broken or damaged.

Adults, elderly and children over 1 year:
  • Wash and dry hands before use.
  • Tilt head sideways with the affected ear facing upwards.
  • Avoid touching the ear with the dropper.
  • Using the dropper, place 5 drops of oil into the ear, then gently massage around the outside of the ear.
  • Never insert the dropper or any solid object into the ear.
  • You may experience a harmless tingling sensation as the liquid enters the ear.
  • Allow a few minutes for the drops to reach the eardrum by keeping the head tilted then use a tissue to wipe away any surplus product that runs from the ear.
  • Repeat in the other ear if required.
  • Use the drops twice a day for three days.
  • Once opened, store the dropper in the bottle and dispose of cap safely.
The doctor, nurse or specialist may give you specific instructions for using the drops depending on the severity of your wax problem. You should follow the instructions for using the drops to ensure successful removal of wax. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.

Children under 5 years should have their ear wax problem diagnosed by the doctor before treatment with Cerumol Ear Drops commences. Treatment of young children (under 5 years) should be under medical supervision of the doctor or nurse.
