SMA Anti-Reflux Powder From Birth

SMA Staydown Powder is scientifically formulated for babies with significant reflux when they are not being breastfed, to be used under medical supervision. The anti-reflux formula is nutritionally complete for babies from birth to six months so can be used as a sole source of nutrition. For babies over six months, it can be mixed with foods once weaning has begun. All babies are different but you may find that symptoms subside around the time of weaning, in which case you should swap to SMA Follow-on Milk for babies from six months. If not, SMA Anti-Reflux Powder can be used up to 18 months in conjuction with solid foods.

SMA
Anti-Reflux Powder contains natural maize corn starch which is easily digestible and helps the feed to settle more easily in your baby's tummy. As the formula thickens in the stomach, it has a normal consistency and will flow through a standard teat.

SMA
Anti-Reflux Powder contains iron to support healthy growth and brain development omega 3 and 6 at levels recommended by experts to support the high demand infants have for these essential fatty acids.

SMA
Anti-Reflux Powder is Halal approved and suitable for vegetarians.

Directions

Whilst this product is made under strict hygienic conditions, it is not sterile. Failure to follow instructions on preparation and storage may make your baby ill.
SMA
Anti-Reflux needs to be made up with chilled water that has been previously boiled.
  1. Wash hands well. Sterilise all utensils according to manufacturers' instructions.
  2. Boil 1 litre of fresh tap water. Allow boiled water to cool before measuring the required amount of water into the sterilised bottle (see feeding guide). Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.
  3. Place teat and cap on bottle and cool bottle under running water, then refrigerate until chilled. Water must be chilled prior to adding powder to make feed. Use water within 24 hours.
  4. Prepare each feed as and when your baby needs it. Using the scoop provided, add the correct number of scoops of powder to the refrigerated water (see feeding guide), levelling off each scoop with the back of a clean dry knife. Replace plastic lid on can.
  5. Replace the sterilised teat and cap on the bottle and mix the powder and water together by rolling the bottle vigorously between your hands - do not shake.
  6. Allow feed to reach room temperature and feed within 2 hours. Do not warm feed as it will cause milk to thicken.
