Description
Optive Eye Drops
Optive Eye Drops provide long-lasting, soothing relief from the symptoms of dry eyes, such as soreness, irritation or a gritty sensation. Dry eyes can be caused by your eye not producing enough tears to keep the eye moist, or by things such as certain medical conditions or treatments, prolonged use of computer screens or drying atmospheric conditions such as air-conditioning, central heating or atmospheric pollution.
Optive Eye Drops are a dual action formula that lubricates the surface of the eye and protects the cornea. The two active ingredients are carmellose sodium, which is an eye lubricant and glycerol, which acts as a non-blurring moisturiser. It also contains the preservative purite, which breaks down into natural tear components in the eye.
Optive Eye Drops can be used by people who wear any type of contact lenses.

Directions
- Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
- Put one or two drops into each eye as needed, or as directed by your doctor.
- When using the eye drops you should take care to not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, or to your eye, in order to avoid contaminating the medicine.
Ingredients
Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose 0.5%, Glycerine 0.9%, Levocarnitine, Erythritol and Purite 0.01% as a preservative.
Cautions
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- Do not swallow the solution.
- To avoid contamination, do not touch bottle tip on any surface, and avoid direct contact with the eye.
- Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.
- Discard any remaining solution 6 months after opening.
- These eye drops are unlikely to have any harmful effect when used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, as with all medicines, these drops should be used with caution by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and only on the advice of a doctor.
- If you experience mild irritation of the eyes, stop using the drops and consult your doctor.
- If you are already using any other medicines, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, it is important to check with your pharmacist before using this medicine as well, to make sure that the combination is safe.
- If you are using more than one type of eye drop you should administer them at least five minutes apart, to prevent the second drop washing away the first. Use eye gels or ointments last.
- If your eye irritation persists or gets worse after using these drops, or you experience a headache, eye pain, vision changes or continued redness, you should stop using these eye drops and consult your doctor.
- After putting in the eye drops you may get slightly blurred vision or a mild stinging sensation. If your vision is affected it is recommended that you do not drive or use any machinery until your vision has cleared.
