Haymine Tablets
Haymine Tablets provide continuous relief from the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies (sneezing, itching and runny nose, blocked nose, red, itchy and watery eyes, and skin rashes) for up to 12 hours. The tablets combine an antihistamine with a decongestant to combat nasal congestion as well as the symptoms that other antihistamines remedies treat:
Haymine Tablets provide continuous relief from the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies (sneezing, itching and runny nose, blocked nose, red, itchy and watery eyes, and skin rashes) for up to 12 hours. The tablets combine an antihistamine with a decongestant to combat nasal congestion as well as the symptoms that other antihistamines remedies treat:
- Chlorphenamine maleate: An antihistamine which relieves symptoms such as runny nose, allergic rashes, and itching associated with hayfever and other allergic conditions.
- Ephedrine hydrochloride: A decongestant which reduces nasal congestion and controls some of the possible drowsiness caused by chlorphenamine.
Directions
- Adults, elderly and children over 12 years: The usual dose is 1 tablet daily or 1 tablet twice a day, when required. Swallow the tablets whole with some water - do not chew or suck the tablets.
- Children under 12 years: Not suitable.
Ingredients
- Active Ingredients: Chlorphenamine Maleate 10mg and Ephedrine Hydrochloride 15mg.
- Other Ingredients: Hypromellose, Quinoline Yellow, Hardened Castor Oil, Magnesium Stearate, Nipastat® (Methyl Hydroxybenzoate E218, Ethyl Hydroxybenzoate E214, Butyl Hydroxybenzoate, Propyl Hydroxybenzoate E216 and Isobutyl Hydroxybenzoate).
Cautions
- Do not drink alcohol while taking Haymine . Drinking alcohol while taking Haymine can cause you to feel more drowsy than usual.
- Haymine may cause drowsiness. If this occurs do not drive, use machinery, or perform any tasks that may require you to be alert.
- Haymine Tablets contain hydroxybenzoates which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
- Haymine Tablets contain castor oil which may cause allergic reactions.
- Are allergic to chlorphenamine maleate or to any other antihistamines.
- Are allergic to ephedrine hydrochloride, to any other decongestants, or to any of the other ingredients.
- Have had a heart attack.
- Have high blood pressure.
- Have an overactive thyroid.
- Take medicines containing monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) for conditions such as depression, Parkinson's disease, infection.
- Have asthma or wheeze.
- Are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, and herbal preparations, in particular medicines containing alcohol and those which can cause you to feel sleepy, such as antidepressants and relaxants. Some medicines may be affected by Haymine or they may affect how well Haymine will work.
