Description
Aptamil Lactose Free Powder From Birth
Aptamil Lactose Free Powder is specially formulated to help manage the symptoms of lactose intolerance in babies and helps your baby to recover from symptoms such as diarrhoea, bloating or wind caused by secondary lactose intolerance. It is also sucrose free so can be used to help manage the symptoms of sucrose intolerance.
Lactose is a sugar found naturally in milk and most other dairy products. An intolerance occurs when the body is unable to produce enough lactase, a digestive enzyme produced in the gut, to break down the lactose into a more easily digestible form. Symptoms include stomach pain, diarrhoea, a bloated stomach and excessive wind and usually occurs within 1–3 hours after the lactose containing food has been consumed. If you think your baby is having digestive trouble, you should visit your GP, who can help with a diagnosis. They may recommend a lactose-reduced or lactose-free formula such as Aptamil Lactose Free Powder. It should only be used following advice from your GP or dietitian.
